A Midsummer Night's Dream at Giambattista Valli Couture

Giambattista Valli's Fall 2012 Couture show in Paris this week is a play on the whimsy of the forest. Think wood nymphs and fairies. Unfortunately, he didn't make the garments as avant garde as I would have liked but I was completely charmed  by the prints, and some of the more textured pieces (see the grassy coat in look 4, and the petal or leave-like layering of fabric in the gown in look 5). I am also obsessed with the accessorized mesh and butterfly combinations over the models faces. The butterflies over the girls mouths were to die for!
